Our trip to Phuket and Bangkok arranged by Marco Polo Travels was more than our expectations. I would like to thank you and your team for understanding our need of holidaying and arranging the travel, accommodation, food and transportation accordingly. In future if we decide to travel again for holiday, I will definitely put Marco Polo Travels in a first place.

Though the trip arrangement was good, I have some suggestions for you and your team to make it better:
  1. You can give your client a option for one night stay at Phi Phi Island. It worth.
  2. Temple tour in Bangkok was of limited time and place. If you include same trip through the tourist boat from Saphan Taksin and then tour to Grand Palace and other imp. Temples, that would be an exciting package for Bangkok.
  3. If possible try to include tour to Siam Square and BTS experience in Bangkok.
  4. The updated communication was not updated with local agent/s. For eg:

    1. In Phuket, we were asked to be prepared for Airport pickup at 10:30 am but the driver arrived at 9:00am and were angry for not getting ready.
    2. In Bangkok, local agent's driver left the message that he will pick up at 6:15am on 28th ( we reached hotel at 2am night) and he came at the same time on 28th. It was very hard for us to convince him that we do not have flight on that day. I think this is a communication gap (don't know from where?).

  5. You should provide travel guidance with brochure (if possible in Nepali) understanding the nature of Nepali tourist's expectations because I believe that everyone visit there for the first time.

Thank you for coordinating our trip. Though we felt a little hassle while confirming our trips due to difficulty in getting the return ticket and the extra payment that we had to made, we felt that the overall trip was pleasant. The guides were nice; especially the city tour guide was good in communication, who explained us the history of Malaysia. We, especially I, was happy to have known a bit about the political updates and the ceremonial monarchy updates of Malaysia.

Radius Hotel is fine including its services though we experienced language problem a bit. The rooms and breakfast served are adequate for such a travel. The drive to Genting Highlands was also pleasant with the guide explaining us the nooks and corners of the highlands. The First World Hotel in Genting is really true to its name, THE FIRST WORLD. The waiting queue for check in, at first made us panicked, but it passed away due to fast services. We enjoyed the indoor theme park which was not included in the package, but we paid on our own. The breakfast in the following morning was interesting as we had to be in queues of about 1000 people to get every item. With a small baby in arms, it was difficult but we enjoyed as this is our first experience in a hotel with such a bigger capacity of guests. It said that the hotel has the capacity of 4000-5000 rooms/guests. The outdoor theme park included in the package was a real fun but we could only go for the green signed themes which were meant for families or children, it is because of our small baby who will be scared with the hilarious and expeditious outdoor games.

The pickup and drop to the airport early that morning was scary but the punctuality of driver was stunning. I appreciate his timings. In short, I can say that this trip was well planned.

But the day in Kuala Lumpur was felt to be short. We reached late that night and just a half day in Kuala Lumpur is not enough to visit the stacks of shopping malls over there. Though it is a five days trip, we really had 3 days, the remaining two days are just for travel. So this length needs to be increased, otherwise the management is flawless.

Thank you for your support once again

Outbound Destination: China

Itinerary: 13 to 19 Dec, 2007. (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou)

Experience: The China Southern Air was quite comfortable and our night journey was also fine with our arrival at Guangzhou airport which impressed us a lot. Then upon arrival at Beijing, we were comfortable with the English speaking guide who was with us throughout our stay there, and he was very committed to his profession and provided us exceptional services on behalf of Marco Polo Travels. Although winter in the historical city of Beijing, the cold didn't deter us from our program and in fact we both enjoyed the cold weather there as we were doing lots of sight-seeing and walking too. Equally impressive was the personalized attention we got during our stay in China with flexible time options and dedicated vehicle service for us. Tiananmen Square, Imperial palace/Forbidden city, Temple of heaven, Great wall, Ming tomb, Summer palace, White Pagoda(built by our very Araniko), sea aquarium, etc were so historical and captivating too. Not to mention the delicious/healthy meals we were served(Chinese)...which made me and my wife gain a few kilos within short period of 7 days...despite our long walks. The night train to Shanghai was another worthwhile experience for us and made us feel as though we were traveling in Europe. Hotel Otani was very nice and the quality too. The Holiday Inn at Shanghai reminded me of the chain in Kathmandu...got VIP service being member of the Priority Club. The Peoples' square, Jade Buddha temple, Old city bazaar(not to be missed), the Bund, Oriental TV tower, etc were equally interesting and worthwhile places. Shanghai is truly very modern city and weather being cloudy throughout the year...but a very thriving financial hub of the entire country with presence of almost all the major int'l banks there. Then Guangzhou was more of a commercial center less of historical stuff. I suppose this place is really for all the major trade of China with the int'l partners. Hotel Riverside was also okay. I suppose, this city is shoppers paradise.

Comments: The travel arrangements very orderly and well-planned by Marcopolo. Full time English guides were also very good. Food was excellent(all Chinese) and we were treated like some dignitary by all the pre-booked/arranged restaurants and in fact we were always over-eating due to their hospitality and early eating habits. Beijing was truly the best place to be visited and I liked the winter climate there although snowfall had begun...ofcourse, October may have been the ideal time for many. The tour timings were very compatible and we didn't get opportunity to complain. In fact, we happened to be over-prepared for the winter in Beijing...haha. As a whole, the China holiday was fun-tastic and will be remembered in the months/years to come. And it gave us a feeling that China is as modern as any city in Europe.

Suggestions: Just have only few suggestions to make. Chinese Embassy here could simplify the visa process....and make it tourist-friendly.The China Southern Air could have had given us boarding passes upto final destination(Ktm-Cz-Beijing). The food/meals choice could have had more choice/flexibility. That's all. Good-luck...!!

Oao Reizen B.V., Touroperating

During the period from 1988 up to 2005 Oad Reizen has published a separate brochure with trips to Nepal. In this brochure accommodation of several hotels in Nepal were mentioned as well as roundtrips in Nepal and combination roundtrips in Nepal and India. The flights Were executed by the Dutch charter completes Transavia and Martinair.

At that time we were represented by Marco Polo Travels and they were taking care of all our clients for reservations, roundtrips, execursions, contracting etc.
All these years Oad Reizen was very pleased with Marco Polo Travels. All our clients who visited the beautiful country were handled by Marco Polo Travels in a very professional way.

All the staff of Marco Polo Travels has been working in a very nice, smooth way which gave Us thousands of satisfied clients during these years. Unfortunately the charter companies were not any longer willing/able to fly to Kathmandu. Because of this we were obliged to stop The Nepal program.

One thing is for sure: As soon as Oad Reizen will start a new Nepal program. Marco Polo Travels will be the company who will take care of our clients again.

Best regards,
Oad Reizen B.V.
