Kakani to Shivapuri
3 days trip

This short trek in the Kathmandu valley
rim offers magnificent views of Langtang
Ganesh and Gauri Shanker imal. A short
drive from Kathmandu to Trisuli Road brings
us to Kakani from where we start our trek
along the ridge of the northern hills
of the Kathmandu valley to Shivapuri,
the second highest hill of the valley.
Along the trail the views of northern
Himalayas and the rhododendron forests
are excellent. Once it gets dark the city
lights of Kathmandu are superb. While
descending down to Kathmandu, we visit
Nagi Buddhist Gompa and the reclining
Vishnu Statue of Budhanilkantha.
Day Itinerary Details
- Drive to Kakani and commence trek
to Aledhara (2500 m.) 5 hrs.
- Aledhara to Shivapuri (2732 m.)
5 hrs.
- Shivapuri to Budhanilkantha and
drive back to Kathmandu. (1330 m.)

Champadevi to Kirtipur
1 night / 2 days trip

Perched on top of the Chandragiri hill
to the south-west of Kathmandu the sacred
pilgrimage site of Champadevi offers grand
view of mountains ranging from the Annapurnas
to the west to Gaurishankar to the east.
A day trek to Champadevi and then downwards
to the ancient city of Kirtipur not only
provides an experience of nature but also
a bird's eye view of Kirtipur, the medieval
Newari town.

Panauti to
Phulchowki

Lying at about an hour and half's drive
south-east of Kathmandu, the Newari town
of Panauti, boasts of art and architecture
dating back to the 15th century. Residing
at the confluence of Roshi and Bungmati
rivers Panauti is the starting point of
the trek. The trail following the Roshi
river takes one through the villages to
reach the summit of Phulchowki, the highest
hill in the valley. As well as offering
a grand view of the Himalayas, this trek
also provides an insight into the culture
of the villagers.

- Khopasi to Chandan Danda
- Chandan Danda to Phulchowki
- Phulchowki to Godavari and drive

Changunarayan to Nagarkot
2 days trip
I night Nagarkot Lodge, 1 day trek.
Grade 2
We drive to Changunarayan and start a
gradual uphill walk to Nagarkot(1985 m)
a beautiful place to see sunrise and sunset
over the high Himalayas. We spend a night
in Nagarkot and drive back to Kathmandu
the following day.
Sundarijal to Nagarkot
4 days trip
1 night Nagarkot Lodge, 3 days trek.

Sundarijal to Nagarkot trip offers a wealth
of historical, ecological, cultural and
aesthetic experience omparable to extended
trekking routes in the remote regions
of Nepal. We see best views of Ganesh
Himal, Langtang and Gaurishanker. The
walking hours mentioned are only a guide
and vary a great deal with each individual.
It depends entirely on your own pace and,
of course, on how often you decide to
stop for photographs.

Nagarkot to Dhulikhel
4 days trip
1 night Nagarkot Lodge,l night Dhulikhel
resort, 1 day trek 1 day raft.
We drive to Nagarkot in the evening for
a spectacular sunset view and stay overnight
in Nagarkot . After breakfast we trek
down to the Indrawati river and arrive
at Sipaghat, our raft put-in point. We
have lunch by the river. After lunch we
float down the Indrawati (or upper section
of Sunkoshi). We see many fishermen working
this river. After we reach Dolalghat,
we shall be taken to Dhulikhel Mt. Resort
for a well deserved rest and relaxation.
The next morning we drive back to Kathmandu.
Dhulikhel and Namobuddha

Dhulikhel, a small town located east of
Kathmandu valley is a popular place to
spend nights out of Kathmandu. The resorts
here have gardens where one can relax
and at the same time view the magnificent
Himalayas. In this trip, we hike to a
famous Buddhist shrine of Namoboudha,
which has a stone statue of Buddha, a
tigress and her cubs. Legend tells us
that Buddha was walking through this area
and he came across the tigress. The tigress
was starving and could not feed her hungry
cubs. Buddha felt great compassion for
her family and began to feed the tigress
with his own flesh in order to save the
family from the death.

Tika Bhairab and Kot Danda
2 nights/ 3 Days resort

Tika Bhairab, a Shiva shrine, is located
at west of Kathmandu. Here Shiva is portrayed
as Bhairab the terror-incarnate. In the
monumental multi-coloured fresco, an abstract
close-up of Bhairab's face is painted
on a huge brick wall. We spend our night
in a deluxe resort. Next day we take a
hike to Kot Danda for a picnic. The trail
behind the resort leads to Tinpane Bhanjyang
and onwards west to the summit of Moyele
Danda. From here the grand view of the
Himalayan range is very distinct. The
descending trail brings us to the ruins
of a fort on top of Kot Danda.

Mahadev

After a scenic drive to Tika Bhairab we
check in at Malla Alpine Resort. The following
day we find ourselves traversing along
the southern banks of Bhardev river towards
the village of Bhardevphedi. Along the
way we pass through settlements of Newars,
Chhetris and Tamangs to reach the shrine
of Shiva in its limestone cave, Gupteswor
Mahadev.
